A new update on the Venom 3 movie has been released, offering a first glimpse of how long Sony Pictures is planning to release the upcoming third Venom solo film. After receiving the green light in April 2022, Venom 3 is in fact making steady progress towards its theatrical release, with Kelly Marcel who will direct the film after writing the first two films in the series. Star Tom Hardy also recently revealed that he's deeply involved in the preparation and pre-production of the symbiotic sequel, leaving many fans wondering how long it will be before Eddie Brock and his alien counterpart are back in action.
Variety has now revealed that Sony Pictures is planning the release of Venom 3, the third film in Sony's symbiotic trilogy starring Tom Hardy, for an October 2024 theatrical release. Venom franchise newcomer Juno Temple, who is joining the cast after her three-season appearance on Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso, revealed that filming will begin "very, very soon" and that she's "excited." This comes after an insider report noted that filming would take place in England from June to September, although there is no confirmed start date yet.
Tom Hardy and Juno Temple are also joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who also has his own Marvel experience after playing Baron Mordo in the MCU. Many are wondering what Venom 3 will have in store for the actor. Venom 3, in any case, should largely continue the story of Hardy's Eddie Brock, who is still struggling to work alongside the symbiote, which has now become a staple of his life.
After the conclusion of Venom: The Fury of Carnage, the second film in the currently incomplete trilogy, Eddie has briefly pulled into the multiverse for a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home but was returned to his reality during one of the post-credits, but leaving a trace of the symbiote in that universe.
