The Batman is the feature film directed by Matt Reeves (The War – Planet of the Apes, Blood Story) which saw the launch on the big screen of a new version of the Dark Knight, this time with the new and youthful face of Robert Pattinson (Twilight, The Streets of Evil). This interpretation of Bruce Wayne is still burned by the death of his parents Martha and Thomas Wayne and is totally dominated by revenge that makes him blind and very furious. The film was received very positively by critics and the public, to such an extent that Warner Bros. has given the green light to a new franchise that includes two television series, one focused on The Penguin embodied by Colin Farrell, one on 'Arkham Asylum, but also the sequel to the project.
The Batman 2 is coming in October 2025 in theaters
The Batman 2, however, is still shrouded in mystery for the most part, considering it's still in development. Having said that, for some time now, some details about the film have emerged, such as the possibility of seeing, within the work, Clayface, the well-known antagonist of the Caped Crusader, as suggested by Mike Flanagan. Apparently, however, the villain may not be the only surprise given that, as reported by the podcast The Hot Mic (shared on YouTube on the John Rocha channel), two actors are currently in the running to play the District Attorney Harvey Dent who will become the legendary Two-Face before the end of the film.
We are talking in particular of Josh Hartnett (Operation Fortune, Towards the End of the World) and Joel Edgerton (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Exodus – Gods and Kings). Obviously, this detail has yet to be confirmed by official sources, but we obviously hope that this news will be made official as soon as possible, with also the definitive announcement of one of the actors. The Batman 2 is expected to hit theaters on October 3, 2025, with distribution from Warner Bros.
