Manifest – Season 4: a deleted scene could have distorted the story

Manifest is the recent television series created by Jeff Rake (Miss Match, The Tomorrow People) which, with the first three seasons, was published on NBC, while from the fourth onwards the show was distributed in particular on Netflix. At the center of the story, is a flight that disappeared for five years and suddenly returned without the various passengers having aged. An incipit that is very reminiscent of Lost and which actually finds many connections with the serial masterpiece signed by Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers – Vanished into thin air, Watchmen). After several years, the work recently ended with the publication of Part 2 of Season 4, which saw the light precisely on June 2, 2023, on Netflix.

Manifest premiered Season 1 in October 2018

Clearly, we are not going to tell you what happens in the finale of Manifest which, somehow, leaves little room for maneuvering for a possible continuation of the plot, but, apparently, a cut scene (as reported by Yahoo! News), described by actor Josh Dallas (who plays Ben Stone in the series), changes things considerably. This sequence is explained accurately, however, remains vague in speaking of characters and situations, consequently, it cannot be a real SPOILER. Below is the eliminated narrative passage, which somehow opens up new possibilities.

“It kind of opens up the story a little – or a lot – for further travel. I don't know what's going on. It may or may not take place on the plane, and it may or may not include some characters that are very important to Flight 828. There was definitely a character who is connected to each of those passengers on the plane… and who perhaps disappeared at some point in a past season.”

We remind you that Manifest is produced in particular by Warner Bros. Television, Compari Entertainment, Jeff Rake Productions, and Universal Television with the executive production of Jeff Rake, Robert Zemeckis, and Jack Rapke.
